Brawl Stars Find Gus Basement Guide: Puzzle Solution and Rewards

To solve the Find Gus basement puzzle in Brawl Stars, insert the four shape buttons, wire the fuse box, enter the control sequences, rewire after the circuit blows, and input the final code before the timer runs out.

How to Unlock Chuck's Basement

Chuck's Basement serves as Room 5 of the Mortis' Mortuary event map. Accessing this room requires finishing the previous four rooms: the Entrance, the Find Gus hallway, the Find Gus laboratory, and the parlor. After clearing those rooms, win three battles in any game mode to break the seal on the basement door.

Before heading into the stage, confirm you have the screwdriver obtained from the hallway. You need this specific tool to open the metal fuse panel inside. Once you enter the room, Flame Rider Chuck introduces the scenario: Spike is tied to the train tracks, and a five-minute countdown starts immediately after Chuck finishes speaking.

Control Panel Setup and Initial Wiring

The central puzzle interface consists of a primary control panel with four empty circular sockets and a fuse box on the right side. Open the center panel door first. Next, select the screwdriver and tap the gray fuse box to uncover the square button. Three spiders cling to webs beside the box. Tap each spider to shake loose the triangle, circle, and pentagon buttons. Drag all four shapes onto the central console where they snap into order.

From left to right on the main panel, the button slots are:

  • Position 1: Triangle
  • Position 2: Circle
  • Position 3: Square
  • Position 4: Pentagon

Look at the fuse box to establish the initial power circuit. You must connect the numbered wire terminals on the left to their corresponding shapes on the right:

  • Wire 1 connects to Triangle
  • Wire 2 connects to Circle
  • Wire 3 connects to Square
  • Wire 4 connects to Pentagon

Once all four wires connect properly, pull the red lever located directly beneath the control panel buttons to energize the board.

Button Sequences and Rewiring Steps

The console screen displays prompt sequences based on inner and outer geometric shapes. The outer shape corresponds to the main button geometry, while the inner shape corresponds to the small symbol stamped inside. Rather than decoding each nested graphic under time pressure, you can use the direct button position order from left to right.

Input the three main sequences on the central console buttons:

  1. First sequence: 4 -> 3 -> 2 -> 1
  2. Second sequence: 2 -> 1 -> 4 -> 3
  3. Third sequence: 1 -> 2 -> 2 -> 1

After completing the third sequence, the screen displays a prompt reading FINAL CODE, showing pentagon, circle, square, and triangle. Do not tap the console buttons for this step. Instead, tap the numbered terminals directly on the fuse box:

  • Fuse-box code: 4 -> 2 -> 3 -> 1

Entering this code triggers a short circuit that trips the electrical board. You must rewire the fuse box using the updated color connections:

  • Wire 1 connects to Pentagon
  • Wire 2 connects to Triangle
  • Wire 3 connects to Circle
  • Wire 4 connects to Square

Return to the main console buttons to enter the closing sequence:

  • Final console sequence: 1 -> 3 -> 2 -> 4

Immediately hit the large yellow button to stop the timer and rescue Spike from the approaching train. If you enter an incorrect button during any four-tap sequence, only that specific stage resets, allowing you to re-enter the four inputs without losing your entire puzzle progress.

Basement Speed Tier Decisions

The basement puzzle awards bonus cosmetic and currency items based on the time remaining when you press the final button. Deciding your approach determines whether you collect the baseline milestone or all time-trial rewards.

Route ChoiceBest ScenarioExecution Requirements
Safe ClearFirst attempt learning button layout and wire pathsComplete the final step anytime before the 5:00 clock expires
Bling ThresholdPlayers seeking shop currency without tight speed executionFinish with at least 1:00 or 2:00 remaining on the clock
Full Speed RunUnlocking the exclusive Chuck pin alongside maximum resourcesMemorize inputs and finish with at least 3:00 remaining

Collecting All Basement Rewards

Completing the puzzle before the 5:00 countdown reaches zero awards a Chaos Drop, which drops randomly rolled progression resources, gadgets, or brawlers. Finishing well ahead of the timer yields bonus rewards placed directly on the control panel tray:

  • Finish before 0:00: Chaos Drop
  • Finish with at least 1:00 remaining: 100 Bling
  • Finish with at least 2:00 remaining: 300 additional Bling (400 total)
  • Finish with at least 3:00 remaining (completed within 2 minutes): Chuck Brawloween pin

If your initial completion took longer than two minutes, tap the circular restart arrow at the top right of the room. Replaying the stage lets you attempt the speed challenge again without losing rewards you already collected. Clearing the basement allows you to spend your three battle wins to unlock the sixth and final room, the Find Gus bedroom, to complete the overall Mortuary event track for the Coffin Box.
